Hi,
I have a 32 inch Toshiba model CF32G50. The coax connector has worked it's way loose inside the jack hole. I took some pictures of the area, and here is the hole where the connector was originally connected into:
It kind of looks like there's a receptacle for the stiff wire that comes out of the coax. It seems my cable coax fit into another piece, the actual connector that was part of the TV set, in this picture on the right. It does have a stiff wire coming out, but hard to see in the pic:
I tried screwing my cable coax back onto that, and tried re-inserting the who jack thru the hole, but it will not connect to anything. It may touch sometimes when doing this and I get a picture, but there's no way to keep it connected, no way to keep it in place. I have a hunch that just the stiff wire is contacting something for that instant, giving it some picture.
In this picture is the whole back area where all the connectors are:
Is that area accessible, as it looks like there's a couple of screws there, and a "lip" around that area. I don't want to open up the whole TV, but if someone with a manual or knowledge of this TV would be kind enough to tell me that I can get in that little area or not, that would be great. I don't want to mess around there unless I can get in, as there's no screws showing on the bottom part of that "lip", but it looks like it has one of those hidden real deep ones I probably wouldn't be able to get at.
I'm wondering if another piece of the connector came loose/broke off and fell where I can't see it in that hole? If worse comes to worse, how much can I expect pay someone to come to my house and fix that connector? (Cleveland, Ohio) I don't feel like trying to carry this beast into a shop.
Too bad I can't use both the S-video and RCA inputs, this TV won't let you do that, or I'd just use the VCR in the RCA in, and keep the DVD in S-Video. Thanks much.
