32" Sony KV-32FS120

When turning on the TV it instantly turns off. I am wondering if anyone can give me some pointers. Also this is the third TV in the last 5 years that has done this, other brans were sharp, RCA and now this sony. The TV does sit in an entertainment center. Thanks in advance.

Pointer: call a qualified technician that has the equipment, service information, and training to to work on the set.

Hint: Symptom indicates the tv is going into some kind of protect mode shutdown, since all modern tv sets go into protect shutdown when there is a fault in anywhere between 3 to 30 different critical circuits, the generic symptom as you described is common, but the faults are not common.

Although the syptoms - instantly shutting off - are the same, each TV probably had completely different components failed, causing shutdown. Usually it's caused by a protect circuit - the TV turns on, detects somethin wrong, then immediately turns off to try to prevent further damage until it can be repaired.

If it's in an entertainment center you need to make sure it gets good ventilation anywhere there are vent holes in the outer case.

Sounds like you need a technician to diagnose and repair the set. If you keep turning it on hoping it will stay on, you will eventually cause more components to burn out, increasing the repair cost.
