reading a virtual address - newbie

Hello,
I want to know how to read
the content of a chunk of 64 bytes
from a virtual address
is it by using I  virt_to_page?

or is there another way ? (like copy_from_user?)
what is the preferred way ?

I am quite a newbie so I apolgize it this sound a too simple question
