MONO is the Linux project creating an IL (.Net CPU and operation system independent byte code) JIT compiler.
Though initiated by Microsoft, IL is becoming an independent ISO standard.
It seems that in the Desktop World IL is going to be widely used (e.g. Borlands next release of Delphi (Pascal based RAD tool) will be able to generate IL, which hopefully will be able to run on MONO. This helps them overcome the problem that their tools only created code for IA32).
Are there any movements regarding the use of IL in the embedded world ?
