need very small disc that vibrates

Jul 06, 2003 3 Replies

Hi, My daughter is doing a research project for her masters in Athletic training and needs to locate a small disc sized object (about the size of a half dollar) that emits vibration at 15 - 44 Hz. Low power consumption, continious duty. Please e-mail me at: snipped-for-privacy@comcast.net Thanks, David

Use a piezo transducer.

Cheers!

How about a pager? Sometimes, if you look long enough, you'll find one on the ground, take it apart and salvage the vibrating assembly. It's a tiny motor with an off-balance weight on the shaft. Power up the motor and there you go. Don't know how well they stand up under continuous duty though.
