Wanted to verify a idea. Is is possible use Xilinx PCI express core in FPGA to use SMA ports for the physical layers rather than the normal PCI express slots? probably some parameters needs to be modified.

There is a development board from PLX where a passive PCIe board connects the PCIe lanes to coax connectors that interface to an external board with some PLX parts. This is out of spec but works even at 5gbps (PCIe 2.0)

Hi, Do you know of any particular product that will help to interface between SMA connectors(from an FPGA board) and PCIe lanes (from a PCI Express Switch from PLX). Philip
