Web site inconsistencies

When I rescue/am_gifted a new box, I Dl all of the support files for it (drivers, manuals, etc.) as there is no guarantee that they will be available at some future date.

Doing that for a Dell box, today, uncovered an inconsistency in the way they *build* their support site.

Typically, DriverX declares one or more file formats (presumably the same content). And, a link to "other versions".

So, you might have 18, 17, 12 and 10 listed -- they obviously either didn't release the other versions or opted to remove them from their site.

*BUT*, select version 12 and it's list of "other versions" might be 11, 10, 8 and 5. (one can understand it not knowing about versions that followed it -- 13..18 -- but the fact that it reveals prior versions that LATER versions have opted not to disclose is interesting.

It suggests the pages are built once and never dynamically updated based on the history of the "driver"; rather whatever the page's author thought was worth disclosing at that time.

Gotta be a maintenance headache and prone to error (does the link to version 11 even exist???)
