Any business/government that have been around long enough will accumulate Management Prions that gradually crowd out the healthy structures and eventually mess up all higher-level functions.

The business then goes into the vegetative state, i.e. chap. 11 or the OTCBB.

The government is different. There is no bancrupcy to limit the stupidity. Instead the government will expend vast ressources on grand problems far away that cannot be solved in order to appear busy, while achieveing very little, instead of local problems that are manegeable (but also has measureable outcomes so the incompetence will show).

The only known cure for both is a brain transplant ...

PS: At least some money can be made shorting the stock while management destroys the business and then again on the recovery once new management is finally brought in. With governement ... ack ... when government becomes stupid enough, the barbarians invade.

The leftists elite like to look down their noses at us country boys... just 'cause we talk "funny" ;-)

Our dear president, in a recent speech, gave the website name of a government entity that we could all log on to if we wished to help out in disaster relief. Unfortunately, he gave a shortened version of the name, leaving out the WWW prefix. Thus avoiding (perhaps due to astute coaching) the opportunity to record him saying "dubya-dubya-dubya".

I'm a country boy myself. In one high-school English class, our teacher said "Why do you say things like 'kayow' instead of 'cow'? Do you wnat everyone to think you are hicks?"

In unison (unrehearsed): "But we are!"

For some of my schoolmates, the big events of the year were the band and drum and bugle corps trip to the spring music festival parade in Burlington, and the annual Future Farmers convention in Barre.

Evolution is a superlatively intelligent design. The creation goes on creating itself, and you can sit back and relax for eternity.

I agree that evolution is superb, but not at all intelligent, it just happens.

Yes of course--I've noted the debate. Surely though, the argument is over "natural selection" and the size, rate, effect, and mechanisms of mutation, rather than whether or not creatures evolve. They do.

Creatures do not evolve. Species or lineages of creatures evolve.

Of course they do. And they evolve better and faster than random mutation and natural selection could support.

And according to this morning's paper the DA is now trying to find out more about the process of snooping without a search warrant and without any authorization. I guess some folks have developed a few beads of sweat when learning that the DA might be breathing down their backs.
