So? "Reid is a witless opportunist", i.e. he's a successful politician.
Whycome that blog didn't have all the stupid things that Republicans do and say, eh? Maybe it's because the blogger is an opportunist, possibly witless, too?

Do you need to implement control loops in software?
"Applied Control Theory for Embedded Systems" gives you just what it says.

It's sad when someone defends duplicitous stupidity by claming everyone else does it but it's even sadder when it's called the 'definition' of 'successful'.
And then there's the more obvious possibility that a blog written on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 is about stupid things said on Tuesday, October 23, 2007.
So far, ALL the fires are manmade: Malibu (the Canyon fire) and Agua Dulce from downed power lines, and the Rancho Santiago fire was set (confirmed).
Real-time aerial photos of the Magic / Stevenson Ranch fire--as it started--showed a suspicious black circle directly adjacent to the dirt service(?) road immediately west of Westridge Parkway, here:

There being no fire anywhere near the vicinity at the time, I expect that one will prove to be arson as well, and suspect that cause for the Arrowhead and Running Springs fires too.
Yep. There's even some (unconfirmed) rumors opining that Islamic terrorists took the opportunity to join in. We'll have to wait and see if they claim any responsibility... which typically is their style.

It's just now come over the radio that the FBI has entered the scenes investigating arson.

It's 72F in San Francisco. I can't stand it. I think I'll set something on fire, a nice salmon steak, maybe.
Speaking of heat, has anybody ever heatsinked an SO-8 opamp from the top side? Seems like some decent theta reduction might happen if we epoxy a heatsink to the top. We're running a National LM7372 power-pad part at about 70C, and it drops to about 60 when we push a big steel machine bolt head against the top, with some silicone goop. Looks promising.
So we need a pagoda-type heatsink with a flat, thick bottom.
Hmm--that link didn't zoom in on Westridge Parkway as I expected. This is it:

The fire started off the north end, where Westridge Pkwy dead-ends.
The latest update on the LA Times interactive Google map (previously linked) says it was accidentally started by welders. That may be true, but there sure weren't any welders in the vicinity when I first saw it, tiny, and within roughly 5 minutes of its starting.
Maybe 'global warming' affected their judgement, then 'local warming' sent 'em packing?
Nothing amazing about it. The amazing thing is that you guys are still spending more on "defence" than the next ten countries down the pecking order combined. It obviously suits the defence contractors who are collecting the money, and the politicians whose electoral campaigns the defence contractors are supporting so generously, but the general public ought to be getting a little restive.
A few "Muslim" terrorists do seem to be helpful in keeping the tax- payers distracted.
If Osama Bin Laden didn't exist, it would have been necessary for someone to invent him.
