Would a ethernet card (nic) manage to get a RS232/V24 level (12V) signal sent into it..?
(rs232 is supposed to manage 25V however in reality most signals seems to be 10V)

What do you mean? Do you mean would it take it without damage, or are you looking for soemthing to connect the two meaningfully?
Without damage. Not meaningful, unless mistakes are meaningful :)
