That's a true advance, and if you have a loudspeaker with cabinet panel resonance, then loading the cabinet walls by placing it on top, assuming the loudspeaker has the size loudspeakers should have, will dampen the resonance and improve the sound. After running the contraption for some time the load on the floor will also change, and floorboard resonance will be damped, which also leads to improved sound and a more linear bass response.
