It's because you can't. You can't even control yourself and it's affecting your life. _Addiction_ often requires outside help.
It appears I control you, completely. You can't stop and you won't. You have no ability to avoid it because you simply can't control yourself. You are giving me power over you and that really means you need help. I recommend getting it.
Perhaps your claimed strong need to warn others is really an internal mechanism where you assume a role of rescuer as an explanation for messianic arrogance you don't like and can't control; you imagine you have vast, expansive views beyond the comprehension of weaker others and cannot inhibit messianic impulses.
There may be some drugs that can help you get control of your life, Phil. Seek some help. You'll thank yourself.
