----- Perhaps if you didn't confuse the whole group with your posted advertising (lines and lines of "look at me") people would understand who you are referring to.

Or you could top post where the headers are attached directly to the text involved.

I had nothing to do with that posting. Check the headers before showing your ignorance again.

Somebody needs a hug. (Don't forget your hazmat suit.)

And your flame thrower.

You can't fix stupid. You can't even put a band-aid on it, because it's Teflon coated.

If you can find a time machine go back to the early 90's and get a "Covox Speech Thing" :)

It's just an R-2R network.

I've seen (heard) a PC bios emitting speech,

And also run modplay in pc-speaker mode.

There was also a dos program that played the HAL9000 booting speech from the movie 2001

you get better results with a clock and feedback. essentially you get a delta-sigma ADC.

Well, if you can tell windows to give qBASIC realtime priority it might work sort-of.

windows is infamous for screwing up timing critical applications.

and how do you get masure time in units smaller than 18.6ms in qbasic?

perhaps you can put a hardware timer on the printer end of the cable that interacts with the strobe and ack lines and let the windows print spooler and the parallel port fifos schedule the bytes for you?

on the other hand using out in qbasic should work ok in DOS.

Dear Wayne (full name withheld) I know you haven't reached the full maturity to use Usenet to it's full extent but bothering us with your slobbering crybaby immaturity is becoming a nuisance. Your continual whining is being considered harassment of our good service people. Your constant bellyaching prevents us from handling real Usenet complaints. Please refrain from further nonsense, investigate options to take or shut off your Usenet access. There are many good documents online to help you with your anxiety problems.

In short, act like a real man and realize you can get as good as you gave and stop whining .

Sincerely

What a bunch of pricks. This problem is so paramount, it should be on everybody's most important task list.
