You cannot sell a product in the EU without the CE mark. It is the importers responsibility that all documentation is ok (declaration with stamp etc)

I do not think that is true. Must be something else added to it. Or else all those products with screw terminals are also free to do whatever?

"The CE compliance is the sole responsibility of the manufacturer. With a kit this compliance can not be garanteed by the manufacturer so the assembled kit can not bare the CE marking (basically your just selling parts). So if you want to sell the assembled kits (commercially) in the EU you would have to test the finished product (could be done by yourself) and fill out all the needed documents. Moreover those documents need to be present in the EU held by a authorised representative. And i'm not even talking about the implications of selling someone else's kit as your own only now assembled (commercially off course)."

There is also the insurance part. If your kits/products cause harm and you knowingly sold them without testing/compliance check, your insurance will probably not pay the damages (deliberate act)

It's a part of the complete package. An extreme case is that you make a transmitter than will cause pacemakers to malfunction

is selling a parts list and a set of gerber files and instruction on where to order, a kit? what if i only sell you the pcb, or only a bag of parts with no pcb

Historically, probably not.

Yowsers, that sounds wrong. I used to speed-hike and race-walk in orienteering. I won a lot. I thought I knew how to walk correctly. It turns out now that the small inflammation I was sometimes experiencing mounted up to acute and so-far incurable arthritis in my big toe joints. Before I knew that was developing, I had changed the way I use my foot to move the load off that joint, and started causing problems elsewhere

- which is when I went to look for help. Multiple MRIs and other treatments later, I'm no closer to improvement, but I have retrained myself to stop making it worse.

The upshot: There is a correct way to walk, stand, swivel, dance. There are hundreds of wrong ways. If you're seeing inflammation or tendonitis, it's likely that your gait or stance is causing it, and if you don't fix that, you'll end up like me.

So this is the most salient thing you need to know. Under the big toe joint, there are two major tendons. These have ossified nodes called the sesamoid bones, which together are under 2cm across. When you walk, jump, land, run, dance, swivel, the bulk of the load should be on those sesamoid bones, not elsewhere. There are no nerves or significant blood vessels in the vicinity that you can do harm to. You should *not* push off the toes - this is where my problems started. You should not place weight on other toes or the outer ball of the foot.

Any change in you gait to compensate for injury will ony cause injury elsewhere. Stop and rest when you need to.

It's fine now. I was just hiking a steep narrow trail with Mo, around the Judah Loop, and she wanted me to hold her hand, so I went a couple of miles walking on rocks and rubble on the side of the trail, on my toes a lot. Noble of me, but my foot sure didn't like it. Had to wear that CE-marked boot thing for a couple of weeks.

Another thing that's great about alpine skiing is the massive plastic boot. You can't sprain an ankle or get tendonitis or freeze your toes in a good boot.

My problem was in the top of my foot a little bit forward of the ankle. Don't know what that is. There's a lot of parts in a foot. Extensor maybe.

I'm 78yo and starting to develop arthritis. I recently learned that vitamin D can help. I started taking 1,000 UI daily and things improved. I upped it to 2,000 UI and the pain is almost completely gone. I was taking all the other vitamins from A to K, but they had no effect. Taking D all by itself or with vitamin C made all the difference.

That'll be the navicular. In one foot posture (very abnormal while walking!) this slides down out of play and the Talus folds over the top almost to the Cuneiforms, and you'll get pain from that.

It's a very abnormal foot posture caused by strong shin muscles overriding a partly collapsed arch and weak lumbrical muscles etc. Been there done that!

Getting old is not for the weak. Google up some foot anatomy and apply your engineering brain to understand it.
