Does anyone have basic circuit designs for this scenario; I have soldered wires from switches of switch-toys to external pushbuttons to help a severely disabled 3 year old little girl to be able to use them. I would like to be able to interchange a range of switch-toys that are both homemade and bought that will help stimulate her development.
The toys are DC powered and I have an adapter that converts to 3, 6,
9v. What I would like some help with, is to find some schematics which will show me how to connect up all four toys which have different voltages (3, 6, 9v respectively) to individual push buttons via a 555 timer. I can set a circuit up for one toy at present so that when the child presses one button the toy switches on for approx. 12-15 seconds then turns its self off.
My aim is to set up 4 pushbuttons in the 555 timer circuit so that she is able push any of the 4 toys on for 12-15 sec at any one time. I'm assuming the circuit voltage would need to be set at 9v.What I'm not sure of, is how to set it up to reduce the voltage within the circuit to support 3/6v toys in the same circuit as the 9v toy, and how to set the pushbutton switches to only trigger one toy at time depending which button is pushed. The pushbutton switch is connected between pin 2 and ground. The toy is connected to the output at pin 3 to a resistor and a 548 NPN transistor which I've added to trigger the toy off and on for short periods of time.
Sorry I'm not able to explain more technically what I want. I'm doing the best I can with the knowledge I have at present.
