Protel design doubt

Hi

I have a doubt, where can i find libraries of components already designed from NI or AD or MAXIM for protel DXP?? Or do i have to design them myself?

There are some included in some directories, others are available for download, I prefer to draw my own though, it is a matter of minutes. You should really subscribe to the dxp newsgroup available on the Altium server through their website.

I use DXP/2004 and I agree with Terry. Protel's libraries suck. Especially if your boards are going to be hand assembled and want a little extra pad size to solder to.

DIY, its easier that way. Im not much of a DXP user (99SE works for me, so no need to upgrade) but my experience with 3rd party libraries has been ALL BAD. little things like physical size of component tend to be omitted (this is correlated to, but not the same as, pad layout)
