phase sensitive detection

hi, pls, i need help for a experiment in optical biosensor i 'd like to set up a system that can carry out phase sensitive detection. i learnt that one can use the AD630 from Analog. how can design a circuit for that. thx

Have you reviewed the application notes on the data sheet?

If you have the actual modulation frequency source available, the most you should have to do is add a phase shift trim to get the maximum sensitivity out of the amplifier.

you may want to look at, its cheaper and and has examples of use.

ON Semi shows it on their site (MC1496).

The xx1496 is meant primarily for mixer use, the AD630 is a precision demodulator... it's going to depend on what kind of signal processing you're doing.

At least at digikey, this LM1496 is considered obsolete. You wouldn't have a commercial source ?

Be careful what you do at the inputs. It can oscillate for no apparent reason if you deviate too far from the data sheet recommendations.

Thanks Jim, it is 0.74$ @1 at digikey. It would be interesting how it compares to the AD630. I'll have a look at it.
