pass device Ron resistance

Jan 03, 2006 3 Replies

Hi Jutek

Power loss in an ldo is based on voltage drop across it and current through it, not by "on resistance" since the pass device is not used as a switch...why do you need to know "on resistance"..?

Thanks QQ

hello

what is the Ron resistance of PMOS pass device in the LDO? is that 1/gds?

regards

  • Cgs * (effective voltage gain).

Do the math if you want to prove it. The term is Miller capacitance.

to calculate pole position properly.

one more question: Is input capacity of this PMOS equal to Cgs+Cgd?
