Looking for RF / Communications help

I bought some Topo maps - had to get like 4 to do a complete area coverage - for a repeater site. I can't recall now what I paid for them - but at the time - I didn't think they were too bad. I bought mine in like 1988 or so. There is "software" available from a company whos name fails me at the moment. I believe with it - you can input frequency, RF power, Lat/Long and some other variables - to get a view of your signals propogation. The software isn't cheap - at least not for individuals - but if you're into doing installs - not a bad investment - IF it works as well as they claim.

I also have Google Earth, and know how to do "flood" experiments, with as poor as the terrain is available with GE.

Come to think of it - I think those maps were $12 each......... I couldn't recall exactly how much area they covered, I just know I had to get 4 to complete the job necessary. I should check into Google Earth with some of the stuff I'm involved in - to see how things could work out. Could prove invaluable for this area.
