This one is an oral (tablet) vaccine that inoculates the "gut," small bowel , to generate mucosal immune response that is known to result in a broad ba sed robust and persistent immunity. Historically the follow-on to the Salk 's polio vaccine, Sabin's vaccine, an oral administered sugar cube, worked the same way. And that vaccine was extremely successful. These days, I beli eve, it's a calibrated squirt or droplets of liquid vaccine into the mouth. The original sugar cube approach was mainly for children. They just received approval for a phase 1, and which will be starting soon.
