It was a struggle even though she had that $8 million advance for her book. She also got tens of thousands for each speech she gave. What a struggle. I haven't mentioned Bill's earnings, must have been really rough. Mikek

Yes I knew it was higher, but didn't want to say $400,000 and then have an argument about it. Mikek

I wonder how Hillary will get Joe Biden out of the way if she wants the nomination?

"The only vice president in recent history who wanted to get his party's nomination and succeed his retiring boss - but failed - was Alben Barkley. The number two under Harry Truman and a former Senate majority leader, Barkley made himself available for the nomination after Truman surprised the nation by taking himself out of the running in 1952, after losing the New Hampshire primary. But Barkley, who was 74 years old and in office for four decades, was dismissed as "too old" by many in the party, and that was the judgment from organized labor as well. The Democrats ultimately chose Adlai Stevenson."

You laughing hyenas will put your tail between your legs if she wins. At least one poll shows 68% of Americans think she is a good leader. eek.

Remember the news item that she cleaned out the White House of antiques and even the silver ware? Bill started the "Clinton Foundation" to save the world. There were some scandals. She has never done an honest day's work in her life, and is anxious to get into the WH again, as the current denizens showed her what an amateur she was, money-wise.

The free market can't be wrong, she obviously works twice as hard a Sarah Palin she only gets $100,000 for a speech So many other people that get exorbitant pay for stuff that doesn't seem worth it pay little tax so why not Hillary?

Of course we don't know if she actually gets any 200+k$ business. It's the free market philosophy to charge what you can. But I must admit, Oprah, who was born in a car somewhere, and now is worth 2 billion $, says that the U.S. society stops poor people from getting ahead.

Thomas Sowell, an African American himself (though he wouldn't use that term.), calls this the "racial spoils system."

In reality, Oprah is a hard-nosed competitor who ruthlessly strives to get ahead and make a lot of money.

She owns Dr. Oz, and he seems to be a success. (I can't keep up with his advice, though. Can you?)

I don't try, it seems every time I see Oz, he has a new miracle food that will change your life. There is no miracle food. He should stop. Mikek

If she does, I'll probably retire and start a new career seeking out and turning in welfare cheats.

Just this morning I witnessed a conversation of a city employee that just qualified for medicaid, his wife is collecting unemployment and has been offered a job, his question, will they pay cash so she can continue to collect her unemployment? Give me, give me, how much will the hardworking tax payers give me?

I'm tired of it, Mikek

freeloaders are tiring,

would it have been any less unacceptable if he wanted her to be paid in cash so she could avoid paying tax?

cheats are cheats, doesn't really make a difference if it is incoming or outgoing it is all from the same "account"

No, but that is just another facet, plenty of that going on also.

Hi Mikek, Yes, OZ is like a dog that vomits on your LR rug. But I wouldn't press the nuclear button and say that it's all nonsense. That being said, ISTM Oz influences people to not pay attention, since you can't keep up with all he says. I know that doctors in the US who use diet and supplements in their treatment are booked up 6 months in advance now. In the US, we have had a series of medical 'fads' with doctors mouthing the latest catch phrase. It was 'holistic, 'alternative,' 'complementary,' and now "Integrative." But simple preventive medicine, known since 1900, is not done. It has been known forever that Magnesium deficiency has a big influence on heart disease.

70% of the public is deficient, but when did they screen you last for that? j
