How I design this circuit?

Or charge a LiPo for a while, then use it to run a toaster.

1000W for 5 minutes = 300kJ

Assuming 90% charge efficiency and a 500mA charge:

(300kJ) / (0.9 * 5V * 500mA) = 133.3 * 10^3 seconds = 1 day, 13 hours.

So -- charge for over a day and a half, toast a slice of bread, repeat. What's the problem?

Huh, OK I always figured a toaster was ~1 kW for a few minutes. And why not use the wall AC?

Maybe you could make a little hot place with 50-100 W (from Klaus) and drag that over the bread slowly.

Right. No one would want a USB toaster. A WiFi enabled toaster is far more useful.

The problem depends on which USB connector type is on the toaster. ;-)

Ah, I see. A toaster that can also be used to recharge your smart-phone.

Yes, I'd buy one of those.

Isn't every post here for the purpose of wasting time?

No. I can only speak for myself and I can only speculate on the motivations of others. My rants are intended to be educational and occasionally entertaining. Unfortunately, few have anything to do with electronics design. I sometimes suspect that I waste more time writing such rants, than the total time wasted by the few people that read them.

However, there is a small chance that you might be referring to the one line comments, devoid of information or substantiation, such as your comment above. Presumably, you had some purpose in mind other than wasting time, but it's certainly not obvious.

Hint: Don't post anything which you would not consider worth reading.

My Fluke Meter fix post wasn't.

And it works 100%. Batteries still full after 3 weeks, when it used to deplete a full 6 pack in less than 3 days.

easy with a single line of resistance wire. Unless insulated your toast would come out 90% cold with a nice hot strip at one end.

You mean like the restaurant down the street (except for the warm strip at the end)?
