I can't hear above 11Khz. :-{



I picked up a pair of Pioneer HPM 700 speakers that a neighbor threw out. I connected it to my signal generator to verify operation of all speakers, it a 4 way speaker. The tweeters are not functional, and I had a hard time verifying operation of the super tweeters. Once I got past



11kHz, it has my hearing that was non functional. Both super tweeters are ok. The woofers need to be refoamed, I'd like to make the repair, but I need to find the tweeters before I spend time and money to refoam the woofers. The tweeters show up on ebay occasionally.

I used to hear 22K, but I'm down to maybe 12 now, fortunately still at average sensitivity, in spite of a lifelong love of power tools.

There's not much to hear above 10K anyhow.

No. One of my 1920s books describes a super-regen designed to oscillate at 10kHz, and basically says don't worry about it its above audio frequency. From my experience with a couple of 20s speakers I suspect it was well above speaker frequency limits.

speakers playing sounds around 13kHz so teens won't hang around the wrong places in malls etc.

Yea, I've heard about them. When my daughter was living at home, she complained about the 15,734 hz noise coming from one of our tv's.

Ahh yes. I remember being able to hear the 15.750 kHz of the old B&W TVs...
