This is a little utility to copy newer files from one folder to another.
rsync -rtP olddir/ newdir/
or even
xcopy /d /s olddir\* newdir

Too much typing.
I prefer WinMerge for inspecting file directories and synching them and also previous versions of plaintext documents for differences.
You have to tweak the settings as sometimes it gets out of step but it is invaluable when checking large text files for minor differences.
Yikes, that does MEGO onto me. My little EXE just does what I want, doesn't need an install or dll hell, and is *stable*
Windows Essentials / SyncToy. Microsoft, uh, made? Endorsed? Whichever. Does a fine job IME, and works with XP+.
If you're doing network connections, it might be reasonable or better to use Win7's offline files feature (or I forget if XP had it too, I never looked), which as I understand it, works similarly.
A repository (e.g., for Windows, TortoiseSVN) might also be of interest, more for design files in-progress, and with records, than for general file use.
