Frequency of flat top stoves?

At what frequency do flat top induction stoves operate. I google and looked through about 60 pages and the best I found was approximately 1000 time line frequency. I did run across this sensitive individual, (I'd like to see a double blind study on him)

Even has a sensor that turns off the refridgerator when he enters the kitchen and converted a sewing machine to run pneumatically. Mike

I understand that when you get a bad case of nutcase juice oozing from the skin you can become "electrically sensitive" ;-) ...Jim Thompson

A few 10 kHz.

Where can I rent an "Electrically Sensitive"? I could use one for EMC pre-compliance testing.

"Let me test this connector...", he touches the gaps with a finger, "I can feel the needle of a 1 MHz peak. It's 7 dB over the allowed limit.", moves the finger over the PCB: "The voltage regulator is the source." :-)

That's pretty much the impression people get with some EMC work. But all they really care about is that the problems are found and fixed, not how one gets there :-)

In the case of his fridge I'd have a much bigger concern: You stand there in the kitchen for 2-3 hours cooking up some fancy dinner. Then you open the fridge and all the beer is warm.

Mike: Induction ranges typically run around 30kHz if I remember right. But real men don't use those. Real men hang around the charcoal BBQ, wind whipping their faces, beer in hand, wait'n until them thar ribs is done :-)

Jee-sus!

I always knew there were kooks all over, but the Web has given them a far greater exposure, and a "legitimacy" they do not deserve.

I fear for the future. Kids and politicians actually believe this sort of crap.

Yep, A quote from Carl Sagan's ADemon Haunted World. "If we can't think for ourselves, if we're unwilling to question authority, then we're just putty in the hands of those in power. But if the citizens are educated and form their own opinions, then those in power work for us. In every country, we should be teaching our children the scientific method and the reasons for a Bill of Rights. With it comes a certain decency, humility and community spirit. In the demon-haunted world that we inhabit by virtue of being human, this may be all that stands between us and the enveloping darkness."

I used to know an electrician who did testing like that. Would touch a live wire pair, and from the size of the jolt, estimate whether it was

240 volt ( line - neutral ) or 415 volt ( across 2 phases ).

Not sure if he is still alive...

If you really need to avoid milligauss AC magnetic fields, don't eat, don't run, don't talk, make no sudden moves. Better avoid rapid eye motion, just to be sure. Wrapping your head in mu-metal foil is a simple, effective precaution.
