That's more like it.
something (a pan) to hold the item being weighed. Something that gets changed when you put things in the pan. This could be:
A beam bends A spring extends or compresses. A gas or liquid gets pressurised.... or many other ways.
Something to measure the size of the change:
A strain gauge (or more than one) Something that measures linear deflection Something that measures pressure.....
Some electronics to process the measurement:
Bridge amplifier LVDT (say) converter etc...
Something to turn the processed value into a useful form:
An ADC A processor tochenge the ADC units to real- world units.
Some way of viewing the results:
An LCD or LED display A serial link to a host computer etc. etc.
There. That should be enough to go on.
Oh, and you'll need some means of calibrating it. stabdardised weights from somewhere.
