I'll defer to cars painted metallic grey though. I once had a collisiom with one. The driver of the grey car could easily have avoided it but chose not to.
My mistake was to venture into the junction and then see the well-disguised vehicle travelling at 40 mph+ in a 30.
I reckon it's daft to allow vehicles to be painted the same colour as the tarmac but that's just me !

In downtown Phoenix, typically 8 to the mile. Residential, almost cowpath-like, and random lengths.
Not when the lane closest to the centerline was full of stopped cars. Though I paused for several seconds to allow for "spooks" she slipped up the outer lane totally invisible to me until she was about a car length away.

What, in a roundabout they just roll over the side of your car because they don't see you when they are changing 3 lanes to hit their exit?
Roundabouts work fine until someone is in the wrong lane, then they stop going "round" and traffic bogs down. Imagine a couple cars full of tourists with a map in one hand and a 24 oz coffee in the other when the cell pnone rings and that concrete mixer who has been turning and burning too long then you start to understand the problem..
Bad drivers, virtually no training, a test any moron can pass ... and they only have to do it once a lifetrime, usually at 16.
60 years later granny is still "good to go" in her dead husband's 5000 pound Crown Vic. In Florida you renew by mail so dead people can get a license, but that's not nearly as dangerous as those who are almost dead and still driving. Put some DUI in there and you have the answer.

That would eliminate a number of different colors in Florida. There isn't a lot of crushed rock available here, so alternate materials have to be used. Have you ever seen a dark red road? Coral pink? Some parts of the country have used those recycled green and brown beer bottles as well.
As we talked about earlier Washington DC has plenty of roundabouts. They end up being the log jam that gridlocks the city. They tunneled under the big ones to relieve congestion. Virtually all of them have at least one set of traffic lights in them, some have a light at every entrance. Even with that the circle gets jammed up. There are just too many lanes and combinations of entry/exit for it to flow like the plan. I can see it might make sense if there was only one lane in and out but three lanes in, 4 in the circle and 3 out with 6 or 8 "ports" (3 or 4 roads passing through the circle) and you have chaos. Maybe you guys don't have as many roads with 3 or 4 lanes going each way and meeting. I suppose we can blame it on the French tho. DC was designed by Pierre-Charles L'Enfant

Coral is white when it gets used Even the asphalt made with it tends to be light grey almost white once it has been in the sun a while. The only time coral has color is when it is alive and wet. I did see red roads in northern New Mexico and north east Arizona but everything is red there.

Part of 441 between Eustis and Leesburg was red for years. It has probably been paved over by now, but I remember seeing it when I first moved to Florida in 1987. It was on the part of 441 that passed the Lake Square Mall. I haven't been down there in over five years, so I don't know if its still there. I saw a lot of poured concrete roads in Ohio, but then, that was where Edison poured the first concrete road.
Longest I've ever done was 49 mi each way ( Cambridge - the original one ).
