Cynicism aside, narrowboating is the most de- stressing experience I've ever had- even when it's raining. It's like doing Tai Chi for 5 hours a day, it's perhaps the slowest form of transport known to man (including the sloth-drawn cart). You get burnt off by OAPs walking the dog along the towpath. Truly Zen-like, with bursts of purposeful activity when there's a lock.

I have no idea what this means. Well, I know what "walking the dog" is, but I don't know what OAP means, or how "burnt off" applies in this context. I do think I know what is meant by "towpath", however. :-)

Would you be so kind as to enlighten me here?
