Hi All, Did you ever try/heard that De-tuning the antenna by pencil ? How and why?

Any conductor attached to an active antenna will change it's effective electrical length changing the resonant frequency, therefore detuning it. That is, unless the additional conductor is also a fundemental length at resonant frequency or is being added as a reflector or…

Additionally, I imagine that often there's still enough moisture in the wood to slightly detune the antenna as well.
