CMOS inverter output to Biopolar

Hi All,

I use a CMOS inverter ( NMOS + PMOS , discrete), its output connects to a biopolar nmos' input, the inverter's output will be locked to 0.7V, what should I do...

the biopolar acts as a current source for LED driving.

Best regards, Boki.

If it was bipolar you were using I'd say, add a resistor. But since you're using biopolar, you have to use a neuron.

Sorry, could you please decribe a little more ?

I don't know what is the neuron...

Best regards, Boki.

It's what you think with. :-) "bio" - biology, get it?

Sorry, boki, but when you serve up those fat straight lines we just have to take a swing at them.

p.s. Google is your friend in understanding English.

Google "resistor."

"Bipolar NMOS" is self-contradictory. You might mean a NMOS or bipolar or sink-only driver or source-only driver, though.

Then it's not an inverter. It's 0.7V source with zero impedance. Real drivers are source, sink, or source-sink.

Go outside, get fresh air, etc.

Figure out if it's a source or a sink. Figure out if it's bipolar (NPN, PNP) or MOS (PMOS, NMOS, DMOS, etc.)

Almost certainly your latest round of questions is answered in a early

70's TTL databook, Lancaster's CMOS cookbook, AOE in the section about interfacing to LED's/lamps, etc.

still don't get it. I never study a "neuron" word in EE courses..

Thanks.... try the thinking way is another kind of learning...

Of course, study reference is very important.

Really? What kind of EE courses are they teaching these days in Taiwan? A neuron is just one element of a neural network.

Somebody who OBVIOUSLY never took a class from Carver Mead :-).

Not that I'm a Carver Mead devotee or anything. The instant I hear anyone talking about neural nets I tune them out!

typo is so funny? ..... = = .... ( save time to make something really productive that is very meaning)

It seems that it needs very large value resistor ( > 1000K ), am I right?

I take a simple try in PSPICE, I still ge 2.32v in inverter's output....

Hi Boki,

I've just spent half an hour Googling all the stuff you need, then I spent the next half hour reading it all for you. As we agreed some time ago, that's another $75 you owe me.
