Why would anyone want such a toy?
Not Techno, but rather Space Music or possibly Ambient: However, there's a difference between music and random tones. Most music uses repetition and variation heavily. Music generated by a random tone generator is anything but a repetitious pitch but does have a repetitious beat. You can get used to random. The brain is always looking for patterns. If you feed it random tones, it will still look for and find patterns and repetition even if they are very brief. It's quite relaxing. Try it:

At home, no download. I make a noise circuit. You push ~10's of uA, (10V/1 Meg ohm) through a 20V zener. Monitor the voltage through a cap. (it's not symmetric.) You have to keep the zener in the dark. (if it's a glass package)
