I met my wife at Hamburger Mary's, a sorta gay burger joint on Folsom Street, about 5 years after I moved here. SF was a straight guy's paradise, full of gay guys and smart, cute women with good incomes. And you could buy a Victorian for $80K.

Wow, if I had a time machine... that sounds really nice. This was the... '70s? Very early '80s?

I came here in '78, just before the Moscone assassination. My first flat rented for $215 a month. I should have never gone to college... just sold pot and bought real estate.
