I'm looking for a laptop LCD screen a 10 or 12 inch one. It needs to be analogue/VGA compatible. I'm trying not to spend too much on this project and would consider a second hand one. If anyone in the UK can help?
There's no reason for a laptop screen to be vga compatible, so there probably aren't any. You can buy PC cards to drive laptop screens. You can buy converters from VGA to drive a laptop screen. But either of those solutions is likely to cost way more than just buying a LCD VGA monitor. I can get you the name of an extremely compact one if you like. It's about the size of a LCD screen sitting on a foldup stand. Analog vga input. mike

Here are the links. My friend claimed to have paid $100 for his at a local discount store. They don't carry them any more. We compared the display to a laptop. Wasn't quite as crisp as the laptop display at the same 1024x768 resolution, but not too bad. Note the relatively small viewing angle numbers. There's something wonky about the dimensions in their pdf sheet. They show the package thinner than the bare unit. I don't remember it being anywhere near 3" thick. 1/2" thick is more like what I remember. Verify that before you buy one.
