Standard off-the-shelf triplexed LCD 4-1/2 digit glass w/pins?

Anybody have a good source for a standard off-the-shelf TRIPLEXED LCD numeric display, something around 0.3-0.56" tall characters (8-13mm) with 4-1/2 digits, maybe some annunciators? It needs to have DIP pins, not the zebra elastomer type connections or heat seal strip.

Small volume for now, maybe 100-200/year, so a custom display is not practical. Price should be reasonable, of course.

I see plenty of static-drive displays, but few triplexed ones.

Digikey stocks the Varitronix VIM-503's for like $4.00. Looks like it's set up for voltmeter/DMM annunciators, 15 pins on the bottom.

Hi Spehro

Densitron have a 41/2 digit DG-004-2 10.2mm characters See Densitron.com. Don't know how good they are at supplying as I haven't used LCD glass for a while.

That looks great. Thanks, Tim!

30+ segments on 15 pins has to be multiplexed somewhere someway.
