OT: Eudora Pro v7

Anyone using Eudora pro v7?

Due to some changes in ISP security procedures I finally have to give up my venerable and cherished Eudora Pro v3.0.5

Comments? Good? Bad?

Thanks!

Wow... And I thought *I* was a die-hard, sticking with Eudora Pro v3.1.1 from... Well, I bought Pro 3.-something in '97, I think it was! Best value out of 20 bucks (in the clearance bin) I've gotten in a while :)

Great program, ain't it? :)

Yep. I'm of the old school, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Plus I just despise "galloping elegance" ;-)

I use Eudora 7.0.1.0 and haven't found any problems Jim.

Using 6.2 at the office and what ever the latest 7.XX is at home. No problems with XP Pro. Nice thing is your mailboxes and address book should move over just fine. I upgraded from the freebee version Mindspring gave out in 1994-5 to V7.XX at the house by just installing over the old version and everything was still there. My version was so old it didn't do anything but basic text mail. Got tired of HTML messages that I couldn't read, WOW, what colorful spam I now get!

I generally ignore HTML.

However, did you know, in old EP, right click the message pane, and "transfer to browser"?

It wasn't EP, just E-Lite, but I never tried doing a right click in it though. It was probably there and I never used it/knew about it.

Reading HTML email without excellent filtering in place is a recipe for even more spam. (See "Web Bugs", above.)

I just became a convert ;-)

Installed EP v7

Marvelous... they've added all the search features I always dreamed of.

I've also switched to a relay thru GoDaddy.com

Cox can go suck the big lemon with their crap E-mail service.
