Have been trying to get data sheets online to work out the three pins .
It has the Motorola "M" on plastic TO-220 package.
It is either power transistor, or diac /triac or something else?
Thanks

** All you need is a multimeter with a "diode test" function.Find the B-E and C-E junctions and you have it nailed as a transistor and you know which is the Base.
The C-E junction has a slightly lower forward voltage than the B-E one.
FAIK - all TO-220 triacs have the same pin out.

"no one"
** Not a TO-220 type - but small signal.Dickhead.
hi, isnt it actually a 2SC 858 ?
