Spent the last couple weekends on a little e-paper weather frame for the living room and it's finally up on the wall. It shows the week ahead with icons, highs and lows, and how much rain to expect each day. Today gets highlighted so nobody has to squint at it, and the temp graph stretches itself to fit whatever the range is that week.
It pulls data from our home automation server every 30 minutes, which gets it from a free local forecast feed. The refresh is slow enough that you can watch it blink if you time it right, which the kids find hilarious for some reason. Honest reason I built it: I was tired of being the household weather app. Now they just glance at the shelf. It also satisfied that itch of wanting to see if I could actualy pull it off.
The layout is a bit snug still, the graph crowds the rain numbers on busy days. Next step is nudging things around pixel by pixel untill it breathes properly. Maybe add a moon phase if I get bored.
