OT: Worried

Gentlemen,

I have to confess to being a bit uneasy over the transition to a Trump government. After Trump won the election, I'd expected to see a lot of butt-kissing on the part of the MSM in a sickening attempt to curry favour with the president-elect after all their outrageous muck-raking and mud-slinging failed to de-rail his leadership bid. So far as I can see, however, there's been no attempts at bridge-building whatsoever. It's as if they still don't believe Trump will ever become president. This might be simple denial or wishful thinking of course, or it could indicate something far more sinister. Obama's covert string-pullers, the likes of Soros and Kissinger are fiercely ramping up the ill-will against Russia. Are they trying to provoke a confrontation sufficiently grave to warrant the imposition of marshal law and an indefinite suspension of the Inaurguration? If Trump isn't prepared to play ball with these foreign agents then he may well de-rail their whole masterplan for global domination and that cannot be allowed to happen. Look what the bastards did to JFK over the exact same thing. It's going to be a long, nail-biting 3 weeks (for me at least). :(

Yeah, time is running out for O to do more stupid and destructive things in defining his legacy. Like rebooting the Cold War.

Donald can undo most of it, and Vladimir knows it. So relax!

Why has the Left, the former admirers of Russia, now made Russia into the bad guy? Are they trying to prove that Mitt was right?

Someday someone should write a serious book about O's personality.

For a minute I thought that Cursitor Doom might be having second thoughts a bout the wisdom of the election of a mendacious ego-manic buffoon to the pr esidency, but he's merely worried that his hero might still not make it int o the job for which he is clearly inadequate.

There's nothing sinister about the main-stream media continuing to think th at Donald Trump is an mendacious buffoon. The fact that he got elected does n't change his character, and his cabinet appointments don't suggest that h e's suddenly become sensible or responsible.

ely > ramping up the ill-will against Russia.

Russia is still fighting a covert war in the Ukraine, trying to over-throw a democratically elected government, and carrying out war-crimes in Syria i n support of a particularly unpleasant dictator.

The fact that this doesn't seem to worry Donald Trump is unsurprising - Tru mp is an egomaniac, and Putin's political support means that Trump is alway s going to like him despite Putin's numerous moral failings.

Seems unlikely - to the point of being utter preposterous.

Cursitor Doom can't find enough fatuous global conspiracies to worry about, so he has to invent something new - and even sillier - to sustain his anxi ety level.

Which bastards? Kennedy got assassinated some 53 years ago, and there have been two new generations of bastards since then. The conspiracy theories ab out the death of JFK are numerous, and every last one of them is silly enou gh to appeal to Cursitor Doom, but a conspiracy that's still running 53 yea rs later is even more implausible than usual.

Any you'll enjoy every minute of it - an opportunity to entertain even more fallacies than we can shake a stick at.

The guy who seems to be rebooting the Cold War is Putin, not Obama. It's no t Obama's forces who are trying to overthrow a democratically elected gover nment in the Ukraine, nor committing war crimes in Syria in support of a pa rticularly unpleasant dictator.

Presumably John Larkin is getting his ideas from the Republican media - or James Arthur, which comes to the same thing.

Donald will do whatever gets him the biggest bribe.

The left - as opposed to the communists - never admired Russia. They like d emocracies, and Russia hasn't got that far yet.

I'm sure that there's a Republican conspiracy theorist writing one right no w. It's going to be designed to appeal to Republicans who don't like Obama, and won't have much connection to reality, but the people who publish thos e kinds of books know their market - and that market is as gullible as it i s opinionated.

The book will pretend to be serious, but it won't allow mere facts to stand in the way of a attention-getting scandalous allegation.

The left never admired Russia. The international socialists threw the proto

-communists out in 1870, for being undemocratic. The Russian communists alw ays claimed to be socialists, but regarded genuine democratic socialists as their most dangerous rivals and under-minded them at every opportunity.

If it was serious and accurate, John Larkin would never read it - he'd wait for some libellous right-wing trash and revel in that.

They may be a bit angry that Russia dropped communism without taking up any kind of respectable political system. Under communism, Russia was run by a bunch of self-serving oligarchs who paid lip-service to socialist ideals. All that has changed is that the self-serving oligarchs are now no longer m embers of the communist party and don't bother paying even lip service to a ny kind of political ideal.

Since the "Globalists" are just delusions implanted in Julian Barnes and Cu rsitor Doom's over-susceptible imaginations by right wing propagandists, th e liberals won't care about them either - that kind of right-wing propagand a doesn't work on liberals, who aren't usually silly or ignorant enough to fall for it.

Julian Barnes are ignorant enough and gullible enough to fall for the most transparent right-wing propaganda, as they've been reminding us for months, ever since Trump looked as if he had a real chance if hijacking the US pre sidency.

Says the slimy right-wing nonenity.

George Soros is famous for making roughly a billion out of forcing the UK p ound out of the snake in 1992. Donald Trump is famous for losing his invest ors billions dollars in a series of bankruptcies between 1991 and 2009 - Tr ump looks much more like a slimy piece of crap to objective observers (whic h won't include Julian Barnes, who may well be working for him).

Indeed, Trump (Drumpf?) is holding meetings with leaders of industry and states in his own building prior to the inauguration. Have previous president-elects exhibited similar behaviour?

And, of course, the fact that Russia has been invaded by most of the democracies in the past feeds their paranoia and distrust of the West. They understand (unfortunately) that the only respect they get is when they swagger around like some hackneyed two-bit Hollywood gunslinger.

Does that describe anyone else we know?

I'm not sure the some republicans will ever forgive Obama for not being 'white'...

Main stream media. The sort of people who write the kind of sensible stuff that Cursitor Doom doesn't agree with. He likes the Daily Mail, which tells him the kind of fanciful stuff that feeds his anxieties - and the anxietie s of every other right-wing nitwit who dumb enough to take that kind of non sense seriously. Julian Barnes does come to mind.

Trump said he's like to be able to kill them. maybe they don't want to remind him of heir existance.

I think it's blatantly clear that Trump has promised to trash the constitution in several different ways. Does the electoral college operate under any sort of oath?
