Joe G,

Just wondering how much the position would pay *if* the ABN of the business is 53 965 131 587? Would the person be employed by Custom Electronic Solutions?

Joe,

no offense intended here, but it is my experience that companies who are unwilling to stipulate a salary range either intend to offer well under the market rate or don't have a clue what the market range is in the first place.

If you want good candidates then you have to demonstrate that potential applicants aren't wasting their time.

Also seems at the moment that more than a few companies are holding job vacancies until after the new federal industrial legislation has gone through federal parliament.

Know of a least a couple who have least 10+ vacancies have put off filling them until the new legislation has gone through.

Neither of them has the best reputation for paying staff well now.

A few of the defence companies are looking at individual contracts especially with some of the upcoming government defence contracts are going to stipulate that all workers have to be on individual contracts.

The one area that the government hasn't mentioned is if they are going to try and get rid of shift penalties or not. More than a few of the employers groups have been trying to get them to agree to abolish them.

Good luck to them trying to get people to work weekends and night shift without extra money etc

Why, the new legislation will still apply to the current employees of firms with less than 100 staff.

No surprise there.

Some do now, but a lot more will do so when the economy turns down, or lose their job to someone who will. That's the whole point of the exercise isn't it?

A quick ABR website search shows Custom Electronic Solutions to be a sole trader business. ABN is 53 965 131 587 and not registered for the GST which means the business can only have a maximum annual turnover of $50,000.

Doesn't leave much for wages, superannuation etc.unless the business is about to undergo a major restructuring.

IMHO no self respecting engineer is going to work full-time for under $50k / year.

Hi Alan,

Are you interested in the postion? - I haven't seen your express for interest directly....only debate on this ng? All details are by expressed interest only.

I am consulting for another company (over 50 staff and going for over 20 years in Australia).

While your details ABN may be correct with CES.... you assumption of the company of employment is definely incorrect!

For further details - please email me directly as I have asked.
