Error during upgrade.....any ideas?

While upgrading Raspbian OS on a Pi3 apt-get upgrade reported: Error: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.systemd1.UnitMasked: Unit -.mount is masked.

I've never seen this error before, does anybody know what's going on?

Um, not in any obvious way...the OP doesn't specify a solution, only that he was using gparted at the time of the update and thinks that caused the error. I _wasn't_ using gparted at the time of the update (who would do something like that?).

Nice investigation, but no resolution offered.

I'm waiting 8-)

Perhaps I should add that I'm using a Pi3B+ booting from a USB mechanical hard disk. Immediately after setup is ran apt-get update without any complaints and has rebooted successfully at least twice.

It seems to be running fine. The only hints of complaint in dmesg are:

It seems quite possible the apt-get error is the result of a bug in RaspiOS. If there's a better explanation please let me know!

The only issue I ever had updating was going to Buster - and the solution there was to use apt instead of apt-get (same syntax). But that was a different issue.

If the syntax is the same, what's the difference between apt and apt-get? The examples I've seen always use apt-get, but I'm not averse to trying new things...

Thanks for writing!

apt has slightly prettier output, such as a textual progress bar.

There are some minor differences in the options they pass to the underlying programs that do the work.
