Unknown DC motor

I have an old dc motor i would like to build a dc-dc converter for, but i have no information about it other than what is printed on the motor(24V, 2100rpm, 2.5kW). Does anyone know how i would go about testing it to determine necessary parameters? (Voltage and torque constants etc.)

That's a large motor. What do you plan to use it for?

100A and 3kW off the mains... you'd need a very good reason to do this.

Depending on the app there is the option of a tapped mains transformer to drive it, simply and easy but no regulation. However you say dc to dc, what are you powering it off, and why?

Might make a tolerable electric car - but a tad underpowered.

Used to make a tolerable electrical system for an old military aircraft.

A couple of deep cycle marine batteries in series would run it pretty well, might make a cool electric go-kart.

Is it a golf cart motor? Sounds about right for that.
