still no luck with J25230BL RCA Hotels tv's Chassis CTC177AW2 (need addional help please!!!!!)

I still have not solved the power and then off. I have tried additional things. I have determined that the following things:::

12V off flyback comes up low 2 or 3 volts. 33V off flyback close to normal. 200v of flyback close to normal. 26V from flyback low 2 or 3 volts.

I grounded pin 26 of IC1001 and now my HOT shorts on plug in, on one of the tv's.

ANT OTHER IDEAS, would be hopeful.

Below is my 1st message....

Thanks for any help, Ken

PS May be time to retire????

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Suburban Electronics Subject: RCA Hotel TV--- J25230BL-- CTC177AW2

I now have 3 RCA TV's with the same problem.

The sets startup shutoff with HV, 3 or 4 times.

I have replaced, the following:

Flyback Regulator stk730-130 Eeprom IC 1001 signal IC Resoldered all tuner and other connections Check Horiz driver and output circuits Etc.

Please help after 45 years in business, It seems more and more that the Manufactories could care less about us or the consumers.

Thanks in advance,

PS I have probably over looked something simple !!!

The 12, & 26 volts both feed the vertical IC. TDA 8172, I think. Check for burnt resistors (some will be discolored, but are fine), check caps, & the diode by the vert IC, replace the diode, to be sure. Unload the vert IC, to see if the 12, & 26 volt lines come back up. Some T.V.'s won't come on with bad vertical circuitry. I know you replaced it, but the flyback causes the "three strikes your'e out" problem, in larger RCA sets. If it's not the vertical, I think it is though, maybe you have a bad high voltage capacitor, or bad horizontal drive waveform. Sky.

I would try using a variac. Start about 80-90v. maybe regulator circuit is not working correctly starting with a low voltage and bringing up. Another possibility since the two lines may be loaded down clip on a DC variable power supply on 12volt line then try 26volt line. Bring voltage up slowly monitor current and check for anthing detting warm.

I found some of my notes On the regulator check or replace C4105 10mfd/200v CR4109 7.5v 1.3 watt zener RCA # 215490 CR4106 # 164585

Another tip If you think the horz is too far off freq jump another cap same value acroos the HOT then find problem or align eeprom.
