Sony XBR CRT Power Issues

Dec 05, 2005 1 Replies

I have an early 90's 32 Sony XBR CRT Television. The TV would occassionaly turn itself off. Now the unit will not power on at all. When I plug it in I hear it getting power somewhere. However the unit does not power on from the switch. The fuses are good. I repair PC's and Monitors so I'm familiar with CRT's. I've never messed with a tv or tuner or anything. I've heard this is a common problem. Can anyone give me any direction on fixing this issue?

Thanks....

These sets had a lot of bad solder connections on the main board. Bad soldering on the horizontal drive transformer eventually kills the HOT. Andy Cuffe
