Sony KV-32S20 goes blank for a fraction of second.

Do a google groups archive search for Sony, video, blinking video, etc. Sony will blank the video when any of the following occurs,

1. Loss of h-sync to the system control-also will cause shutdown that will require an unplug to turn it back on.
2. Loss of vertical deflection - sound may stay on. Will be very apparant if the set was working due to the collapsed raster real fast when it goes down.
3. AKB circuit getting imbalanced crt feedback, out of spec feedback - sound will stay on. Most common to see it happen more often when the tube is cold as it is warming up. (good chance here given your symptom)
4. Shorting picture tube. If the green gun had been shorting prior in the set and someone put in a filament isolator, this could be the problem. Each time the gun shorts to the filament or opens up, the video will blink once and rapidly.
5. Problem on the clock and data lines, sda/scl. Usually will lose sound and set will be completely unresponsive to keyboard or remote commands.

Whenever the video is unblanked, the osd may come up. Set may also be losing the horizontal drive due to solder connections to the HOT (common). I would start there and then look to the crt for problems.
