Sony KP-53HS10 HDTV

Hello Everyone,

One blinking red LED and that's all I get on my four year old Sony KP-53HS10 HDTV. It is hardly used maybe 10 hours a week, this is ridiculous.

Would it be worth fixing or should I just scrap it for wall mounted Plasma type.

"Oh. . . I still have my tube/valve checker from an era gone bye and now that I think of it I have a picture tube checker/rejuvenator. (-; lol"

Back on track, seems to be the power supply I would guess, possibly a board replacement? (please tell me its a fuse)

Any input or humor is appreciated.

Thank you much,

Hello again,

I got to watching the LED blink and it is giving a code?

Five one-second flashes then pause, Five one-second flashes then pause

This is more entertaining than HBO lately

I think the bright side to keeping my HDTV is these big screens must be a more preferred repair job than the newer wall mounted TV's. I will keep what I got, forget that new high tech fancy stuff.

I do appreciate any input and humor, thank you.

It's not a fuse. You could replace boards if they're available but it would be far more cost effective to troubleshoot the ones you have.

Five blinks =Video out abnormality detection 5 times

Video out, IC7101, 7201, 7301 and others in C

board circuit.

Q510,516,524 (A board)

TIMER/STANDBY LED blinks approx. 30 seconds,

and then blinks for the self diagnosis.

5 : AKB 000

General guideline....but not always the rule on these code!.

Call in a pro on this one....complex sets...if ya want to keep it healthy!

Did you unplug the set for awhile and try it again?
