seeking laserwriter II part

Hello all,

I am looking for the LED board for an Apple Laserwriter II.. it's about 1" x 3" and has four LEDs with plastic "fins." I am hoping that someone has one lying around they wouldn't mind tearing apart. I used to see them regularly in the junk bins but not so often these days.

I can compensate you via PayPal or send you other weird electronics junk if you wouldn't mind dropping one in the mail.

You could probably hack one out of LEDs and plexiglas...

Apple LaserWriter II, IIf, IIg, NT, SC, or NTX? There some differences.

I tossed all my old LaserWriter (and HP SX series LJII and LJIII) parts long ago. Good riddance. However, I scrapped out some of these and may have saved some small parts. They're probably thrown into a cardboard box and buried somewhere. I'll dig but it will take a few daze.

Also, try asking on:

I've got a couple of LWIIs (complete); if you don't find one, I could harvest it from one of them perhaps.

Will definitely try this and get back. If you or Michael find one lying around I'd really appreciate it.

Isaac: I'd do this ordinarily but in this case I'm not fixing a printer, just looking for that part for an alternate application.

Actually what I'd probably do is just have LEDs hanging out the holes left by the old part by their leads... but yeah. :)

When Apple was still supporting it, that was the "Status Panel" part, order # 971-0005. I've never seen one go bad, and it isn't necessary for operation (most of the variants can be interrogated over the network for any status info).

Lots of laserprinter parts suppliers on the internet will recognize the old Apple part number, I suspect.

It was common practice for repair shops to cut one of those status panels out of a dead machine to use when repairing with the lid removed; there might be one in many a technician's back-room.

Nothing in the pile. Lots of HP LaserJet II/III parts, but nothing Apple specific. Sorry.

I have some LWII parts, but since the OP is a gmail user, his post was deleted (all gmail posters are deleted due to excessive spam...)

If someone (non-gmail) would post the original message as a quote, I'll look to see if I can find it.
