I recently bought laser physics relant 300wc with a excalibur scanning engine mounted on the same board with it. I have to get it to a local shop to see if it works. My question is, "working or not, what is this thing worth?" Is it worth fixing? Im not looking to keep, but to get ride of it. Wwhen this thing was new, I guess this thing started out around $10,000 and went up to $14,000. Is this correct? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!
Output power 30mW to 300mW adjustable Wavelength 488nm-647nm Multiline Multimode, Polarized Current controlled power regulation
The range of wavelenths makes it a mixed gas (Ar/Kr) ion laser outputting blue, green, yellow, and red. That would be quite desirable if it is in working condition.
If it is working to spec, then perhaps $1-3K, a bit more or less.
If it is not working, not much though, especially if the tube is bad.
You should be able to power just the laser and measure the output power.
The optics in the scan engine will also be worth something.
