resistor question..

My mind isn't thinking clearly.. I need some quick advice..

1 ohm resistor.. couldn't I substitute it with a piece of straight wire?

I know that would be 0 Ohm.

If a piece of straight wire would work, that's probably what they would have used to begin with. What's the application?

Is it a fusible resistor?

I would say it should be ok to test the set using a piece of wire, but I would not return it to service without replacing witht he correct part.

True... I ordered new stk's and resistors... my theory was right.. I replaced the resistors before on this tv with wimpy 1 ohms last night.. tv worked great until they failed. so Bad Stk's and with me jumping them just now shows the stks to now have failed. so thanks for the help!!
