Remote control for CyberHome CH-DVD 300S DVD player

I posted something like this awhile ago. Some had even replied they might have one if they were unable to fix the main unit.

I know it's a piece of s*** but does anyone by chance have a working original remote for this thing they'd part with? I repaired the player's power supply (bad e-cap) but the front panel functions really aren't complete.

Thanks.

Hi!

Well...not having looked at the original post due primarily to laziness...what about a cheap universal remote?

DVD players (that so far haven't been broken!) have been hitting the curb around here in large numbers. I've picked most of them up and used a cheap Philips remote that I found at Lowe's for $10 to work them. I don't get all the functions, but I can use menus and all of the basic playback transport controls.

Lots of people talk of laser failures, but it seems that the main processor chips can fail as well. I've got a couple of Apex Digital AD-1201's that I upgraded by placing heatsink assemblies on the processor chip. They are used very heavily and neither one has failed.

I have one, but I still use it. Here are several hits I found online. Also, the 'Cyberhome' brand name is up for sale, so it looks like they are out of business.

One on eBay right now with a $1.25 bid, auction ends Aug-21-07

Cyberhome CH-DVD 300S DVD Player W/Remote, no bids, starting bid $15.

A replacement for the original that might work for you.

That's a good point.

If no one has a remote kicking around, why not eBay? I get everything else on eBay. :)

Thanks.

There is a bunch of those Cyberhome-CH-DVD-300S DVD players being sold as-is for 99 cents w/$10 shipping, and I didn't see any with a bid. They appear to be store returns. Maybe you should try your luck with one or two of those, and have a spare remote as a bonus?

At least if the remote works, then I have spares for the player. :)

But, usually, these things attract bidders at the last microsecond....

There are a lot of them, this time. Looks like someone cleaned out the Cyberhome warehouse.

Looks like the $0.99 opening bids went away though....
