A Phillips tv model 27PT543S37A will not turn on. The front panel green light comes on. Sometimes I can hear a clicking sound like a relay trying to latch. But the tv will not come on.
A few days ago, after a few clicks, the tv would come on and work OK.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

you need to check the eletro caps around the power supply. had the same prob with a nec tv.

R3340 (10 ohm 1/3w) on CRT board? Replace with a 1/2 watt. Taken out by CRT arc? Supplies about 200 volts to the collectors of the video driver transistors. If this voltage is low, it causes excessive brightness (Excessive beam current), causing the set to "shut-down". If the shut-down is too quick, you will NOT see the excess brightness, because the picture tube has not warmed-up enough to display anything on the picture tube. To see if the set displays "excess brightness", you will need to turn the set "on" about 5 to 10 times. This will heat the picture tube enough to display "excess brightness", if that is the problem.
